A very special rarity, belonging to the diverse family of the Filmy Ferns. This tiny moss fern was found in southwestern India on rocks along a stream. It is not yet identified with certainty and it probably belongs to the species Crepidomanes cf. "Malabaricum"
In its natural habitat, it floods only during the rainy period, however, it can be cultivated permanently submerged in Aquariums. This fern has thin, dark green, transparent leaves on a thin, creeping rhizome.
It does not require great care, developing and reproducing perfectly in almost all kinds of water. It should never be buried in the rhizome on the substrate. It is better to leave it on rocks or logs with some kind of support, it will soon take root.
Originally this plant is amphibious and we can find it attached to trunks, between rocks or even in areas of substrate, habitat with a very high hydrometric degree.
Like all Ferns the lighting needs are moderate preferring dark areas with poor light.
Crepidomanes do not need a lot of light, but a good supply of CO2 and nutrients, medium to soft water and a good water flow are beneficial.
Due to its extremely slow growth, care must be taken to avoid being overpowered by other plants, such as faster growing mosses and can obstruct the light.
